The concept

The concept of a tree trunk urn is simple. We intended to create an appealing but also very natural urn. Like with many other organic urns, wood provides the best base for biological degradation. But for this kind of wooden urn, the original material is used in its most natural form. We purposely renounce the use of any glues, oils, or lacquers.

The urns are made from selected tree trunks of, for example, earl, birch, poplar, and willow wood. These are stored for at least two years. A carpenter carves the tree trunk and makes room for the ash container or small cotton bag filled with the ashes. Unlike regular carpentry works, the bark remains undamaged during the process and thus the natural look remains unchanged. Because of this, you get a wonderfully personal urn.
